As 2022 draws to a close, at Creams Cafe we are reflecting on the major successes within our network this year. From multiple exciting partnerships for the brand to our franchise partners flourishing as new business owners, we’re thrilled at the progress we have made. With our new CEO, Everett Fieldgate, returning to the UK in the new year to put his innovative plans into action, we’re excited to see what triumphs 2023 will bring for Creams - and our entire franchise network.
Latest scoop:
Topping off a great year is Creams Cafe making the esteemed Elite Franchise Top 100 (EF100) in its first-ever consideration for the ranking. The annual league table, which compiles the top 100 franchisors in the UK, has hundreds of entrants apply across every sector in competition for a coveted spot on the list. This year, we took position 37 – the highest-ranked dessert restaurant franchise in the UK, and a title we will hold for the duration of 2023.
Established in 2017 in association with HSBC, the EF100 recognises and celebrates the leading franchises across all sectors. In addition to eight key assessment areas including finances and the brand’s contribution to local and wider communities, the league this year also ranked franchises based on its abilities to proactively plan ahead in the current turbulent economic landscape.
“During judging, we take into account entrants’ sales and growth figures as well as the training and support systems in place for their network of franchisees. This year, brands were also judged on any measures they initiated to survive the damaging aftereffects of the pandemic, along with how they would continue to grow their brand during the current financial crisis. Securing a place in the top 100 is a testament to all that Creams has achieved over the past year,” added Anita Roberts, Franchise Director at HSBC UK.
Othman Shoukat, Managing Director at Creams Cafe, said, “We’re incredibly proud to have ranked so highly on this prestigious list, especially considering it’s our first time entering. We’re constantly investing in the future of our franchise network – from appointing our new CEO to introducing new incentives for our customers and building great industry partnerships.”
This month, Creams were featured in Global Franchise magazine as part of a ‘meet the new disruptors’ article. We were included as an exciting franchise brand who are making strides in the QSR market, leading the way in both innovation and ambition on a global scale.
“From technology to logistics and quality control, one brand well and truly tipping the operational process on its head is Creams Cafe. Its vertical integration sees the franchisor with full control of its key product from manufacturer to franchisee.
“Since opening its doors in 2008, Creams has become the U.K.’s favourite dessert restaurant brand, making waves in the hospitality sector as an award-winning market leader. Due to its innovative ideas and core values, Creams has built a worldwide reputation and, thanks to the irresistible menu, now has over 30 multi-unit franchise partners within its network. With plans to become the number-one dessert restaurant in the world, the franchise is well on its way to reaching its target by creating a plethora of own-brand products and utilizing its strong worldwide connections.
“As the now famous saying by Henry Ford goes, “Quality is doing it right when no one is looking.” Here, the fast-casual restaurant franchise comes to the fore, having owned and operated its gelato factory in London since launching almost 15 years ago.”
